Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2016 (Cancelled)
We are so sorry to report (after the initial announcement), that the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival has cancelled their 2016 celebrations.
The announcement we are sure was not one that they wanted to make by any means, however the reason behind it was a good one.
" They are taking a year off to regroup and come back, bigger, better and stronger than ever for the 20th year celebrations in 2017."
Sounds to us like 2017 promises to be a must attend and much anticipated group of events.
If we take a look back at the history of Jamaica's Jazz and Blues Festival; it has always been a very well orchestrated event of high regional as well as international recognition. Musical artists from all over the world has graced the stages of this auspicious event originally hosted at the Rose Hall Great House. Over the years the event has grown from an audience of 1500 persons to almost double the amount, until it was forced to switch the dates at which the shows were held due to unforeseen environmental factors. These changes sadly left the festival susceptible to even more damaging tourism downfalls, which in turn severely reduced the attendance of the festival. This brings us to the point we are at now.
So the bad news is, the festival is on a hiatus. The good news is that with this break, the revamp and relaunch for the 20th year celebration will bring back the festival with a massive bang in 2017. We can't wait! Any assistance they need we will gladly provide. We anticipate many cultural and artistic events fused with musical tours of the majestic island on the coattail of island wide festivities plus so so so much more. We are waiting with baited breath and looking forward to what's to come.
Cheers and much love to Jamaica's Jazz and Blues Festival from Exposed Caribbean
